Effects of Sowing Date and Plant Density on Agronomic Traits and Yield in Sweet Buckwheat

2015
In order to study the effects of sowing date and planting density on productivity of sweat buckwheat, the cultivar Jiwu1 was used in field experiments. The experiment was designed in a split-split plot with randomized complete block design in three replications. The main plots were sowing date including 5 may,25 may,14 june,4 july and 14 july. Subplots were three planting densities of 3.6×105,4.5×105 and 5.4 ×105 plant·hm-2. The plant height,Node number, branching, fresh weight of plant, dry weight of plant, thousand grain weight and yield were measured in this experiment. The results showed that the sowing date and plant density produced the significant effects on the yield components and yield of sweat buckwheat. The optimum sowing date for Jiwu1 was from 14 june to 4 july, and the optimum planting density was 5.4×105 plant·hm-2 in the west of Heilongjiang province.
