An Experimental Study of Thermophysical Properties of Alloy Near Melting Point by a Novel Method

2012
An investigation of thermo physical properties of alloy by the novel method has been carried out. At present it is necessary for nearly all of measurement methods for coefficient of thermal conductivity to put a temperature gradient on material measurement. In this time the structure, crystal form and thermo physical properties of material measured are often changed. The coefficient of thermal conductivity near melting point can be measured by moving speed of phase interface. Based on the theory, the author investigated a novel measurement system for coefficient of thermal conductivity of alloy near melting point. By the measurement system, the author measured the coefficients of thermal conductivity of Bi-Zn alloy (Bi-60%, Zn-40%) and Al-Si alloy (Al-87.4%, Si-12.6%) near phase transition point. The measured values were respectively 17.95w•m-1•k-1 (liquid phase) and 34.9 w•m-1•k-1 (solid phase). The measured values of Al-Si alloy (Al-87.4%, Si-12.6%) were respectively 79.9 w•m-1•k-1 (liquid phase) and 214.8 w•m-1•k-1 (solid phase).
