Recent methods and trends in determining point maintenance frequencies

This paper summarizes rail point maintenance schedules up to the present date and the initiatives that have been introduced in the past to improve performance, safety and quality. The paper also discusses the problems of point maintenance and the novel approaches being investigated at Preston. Finally, the results of the experiments and any conclusions are presented.
