Data collection for ergonomic evaluation at logistics workplaces using sensor system

Abstract The rapid technological development of the society is aimed at the gradual replacement of the human work force by machines. However, man with his thinking is still the most flexible, and at the same time, the most vulnerable entity in every production system. Introducing the ideas of Industry 4.0, it is necessary to understand how human activities are transformed and how we can use technology to ensure physical and mental health protection for workers in time with increasing demands on quality and speed of production. This article deals with the intelligent collection of data in the field of ergonomics, which are needed to assess the mental and physical load on workers, and brings forward possible solutions in the form of sensor systems.
