Labor Dispatch and Labor Rights Protection of Migrant Workers——Based on Survey in Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta

2012
Based on the migrant workers survey data conducted in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta in 2010,test the impact of the labor dispatch on the protection of migrant workers' labor rights. The results show that within the group of migrant workers, there is no difference between dispatch workers and non-dispatch workers in the average monthly wage;dispatch workers have a higher rate of the labor contract than non-dispatch workers;dispatch workers are more involved than non-dispatch workers in pension insurance, unemployment insurance, injury insurance and maternity insurance, while there is no difference between them in medical insurance;in some aspects of labor protection, dispatch workers are poorer than non-dispatch workers.Since migrant workers are in the inferior labor market, labor dispatch is a double-edged sword in the perspective of the labor rights protection, having both a positive effect and a negative effect.
