Design And Experimental Investigation On Vibration System Of Ultrasonic Vibration-Assisted Elid Internal Grinding Zta Ceramics

2021
Ultrasonic vibration-assisted ELID internal (UVAEI) grinding is an effective processing for hard-brittle materials. During the UVAEI grinding, the larger of grinding wheel diameters is beneficial to processing efficiency. However, it is difficult to design the amplitude transformer with larger gnnding wheel. In order to overcome the restriction of diameters of grinding wheel, the piecewise approximation method is firstly utilized to design the amplitude transformer, and the vibration system’s parameters are acquired. Subsequently, the modal analysis and dynamic characteristic test of the vibration system are conducted. It is found that the theoretical error of resonance frequency is less than 0.8%, and the output amplitude on the grinding wheel end face is up to 8.3 $\mu \mathrm{m}$. Finally, the actual machining test is camed out to verify the effective of the ultrasonic vibration system. It is concluded that the surface roughness is declined by 34.3%, and the surface quality is dramatically enhanced during UVAEI grinding comparison of ELID internal grinding. Besides, the grinding wheel self-sharpening is improved to a certain extent during UVAEI grinding.
