Increased cerebral oxygen extraction capacity in patients with Alzheimer's disease

• 1.5T GE Signa LX scanner, gradient echo EPI with i.v.-bolus injection (5 ml/sec) of 0.1 mmol/kg gadobutrol (Gadovist®1.0 M, Schering). 16 axial slices imaged at a spatial resolution of 1.9x1.9x6.5mm • 3D T1-weighted (T1w) with a spatial resolution of 0.9x0.9x1.5mm and a reconstruction matrix of 256x256x116. • Modeling: • OEF max maps, modeled under the assumption of a fixed tissue oxygen tension, were calculated from the perfusion images using a parametric deconvolution method [2-3].
