Flat systems form the widest class of systems for which control methods are developed. Any flat system can be presented as the image of a smooth map of a jet space. In the paper an equation on such maps is deduced, and tо each jet of solution of this equation assign the jet of the function describing a flat system. Every function vanishing on this set of jets, gives a necessary flatness condition.
