Survey of Software-Defined Network Security Issues

2020
The Software-Defined Network is a new network architecture, which changes the traditional network management mode, decouples the traditional network control layer and data layer, and realizes more convenient network management by building a common interface between each layer, with the advantages of openness and centralized management. However, the existing research usually focuses on the development of software defined network technology, but ignores many security problems. Software defined network contains many security problems of traditional network, but also produces some special security problems. According to the network architecture defined by software, this paper analyzes the unique security problems faced by the network defined by software, and classifies the security problems. From the aspects of improving controller security, denial of service attack defense, flow rule consistency and improving application security, some existing security solutions and development directions are listed. Finally, the current and future security challenges of Software-Defined Network are summarized, and the future research direction of Software-Defined Network security is prospected.
