Hydrothermal synthesis of a bivanadyl capped polyoxometalate and its crystal structure and thermal stability

2014
A bivanadyl-capped polyoxometalate,[CrⅢ(1,10-phen)2(H2O)]2[PMoⅤ6 MoⅥ 6O40(VⅣO)2(OH)],was synthesized by hydrothermal method. The composition and molecular structure of as-synthesized compound were characterized by element analysis, infrared spectrometry, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction;and its thermal stability was evaluated based on thermogravimetric analysis. Results reveal that as-synthesized compound is built by a mixedmetal bicapped[PMoⅤ 6 MoⅥ6O40(VⅣO)2(OH)]6-subunit and two[CrⅢ(1,10-phen) 2(H2O)]3+ cations.Besides,as-synthesized product has good thermal stability and experiences two-step thermal decomposition process.
