OPTIMAL DESIGN IN DYNAMIC ZONE ORDER PICKING SYSTEMS IN DISTRIBUTION CENTER

An order picking problem in zone order picking systems is studied.The objective is to minimize the total order picking time.For the problem is strongly NP-hard,the dynamic zone order picking strategy is proposed based on static zone order picking by optimizing the picking schedule to share jobs among pickers in one picking lane.Heuristic algorithms are introduced to reduce the total picking time.Meanwhile,simulated testing is taken to validate its performance and reliability of each algorithm,which provides a reference for the application and the choice of order picking methods.
