Dielectronic Recombination Cross Section for C 1
1983
The dielectronic recombination cross section (${\ensuremath{\sigma}}^{\mathrm{DR}}$) was computed for the ${\mathrm{C}}^{1+}$ target ion in the region of continuum electron energies $9.0 \mathrm{eV}l~{e}_{c}l~9.3 \mathrm{eV}$. Since ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}^{\mathrm{DR}}$ exhibited many very sharp peaks, each of width 0.001 eV, it was smoothed, for display purposes, by convolving with a square profile function of width 0.010 eV. The resulting smoothed cross section (${\overline{\ensuremath{\sigma}}}^{\mathrm{DR}}$) had values between ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}18}$ and ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}17}$ ${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$.
