Comparison of different GRACE monthly gravity field solutions

2020
Satellite mission GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) produced, during its 15 years of life time (2002-2017), unique measurements enabling to monitor the time variations of global gravity field of the Earth, typically with the time resolution of 1 month. The majomr part of the gravity variation is caused by hydrologic mass variation. Research presented in this paper is dedicated to comparison and statistical assessment of different GRACE monthly gravity field solutions available via International Centre for Global Earth Models (ICGEM) service. The Releases 5 and 6 from 3 official processing centres: University of Texas Centre for Space Research, German Research Centre for Geosciences, Jet Propulsion Laboratory are analysed. Paper also compares different types of filtration used in particular sets of the monthly gravity models. For spherical harmonic synthesis, the GrafLab software is used in Matlab computational environment. Mutual differences between the selected GRACE monthly gravity models are visualized and compared
