Objectives: To determine sex through the mastoid process through a descriptive study, in order to establish the main anatomical differences of the mastoid in men and women. Materials and methods: A review of the literature found in the different medical databases at national and international level was carried out and then 19 human skulls worked under the quality standard of bone pieces of the anatomical amphitheater of the University of Applied and Environmental Sciences (U.D.C.A) previously dissected and with ignorance of the sex and age of origin of the sample indicated were evaluated. Measurements were taken in millimeters by a digital calibrator and photographic record of the selected sample was taken. Results: Six (6) of the parameters established by Mazza 27 were evaluated in seventeen (17) human skulls, of which 5 were men and 12 women. Discussion: The results obtained in the present study with that of Mazza et. al, they have a high agreement, because with a confidence interval of 95% it was established that the intervals of the means are significant and applicable in the two populations. It can be categorically stated that it is possible to determine by means of relationships between different parameters of the mastoid process the sex of a bone corpse.
