Routine Evaluation of Kt/V and Protein Catabolic Rate

The usual procedure (UP) estimating Kt/V (1) and protein catabolic rate (pcr), requires, as a first step, the measurement of the dialyzer urea clearance (K). It then computes the urea distribution volume (V) and generation rate (G) of the patient, according to the Variable Volume Urea Kinetics Model (UKM)(2).
