A Optimization Strategy of Microgrid Energy Market Based on Scenario Method

For microgrids linked to the major network via the contact line, a optimization strategy of microgrid participation in energy market is proposed in this paper. A stochastic optimization model based on scenario method is established for the microgrid to optimize the energy bids for the day-ahead (DA) and real-time (RT) balancing market, respectively. In the first stage, the bidding strategy of the microgrid is optimized in the DA market, and in the second stage, according to the clearing result, the micro-grid re-optimizes its power generation plan and the real-time tie-line power exchange plan. The proposed strategy is verified based on the market rules and electricity price of PJM. The method proposed in this paper can help the microgrid to determine the optimal strategy to participate in the energy market and reduce its running cost effectively.
