The proposed plan for the management of urban green infrastructure, based on the analysis of information obtained from censuses of urban trees and public green areas, to be performed in a period of 12 years. Its objectives seek to improve the institutional capacity for evaluation and technical management of green coverage, increase social appropriation of citizens through information and knowledge. Likewise, the plan aims to increase the connectivity of ecological structure, increase biomass production and shadow, as well as improving indicators of population per tree, one tree every 6 inhabitants, and 4.2 m2 green area per capita, even distant than recommended by World Health Organization, 3 and 9 respectively. Besides, it is expected to promote the use of the management system of urban trees as a tool for monitoring, evaluation, planning and management of urban trees, and the identification of the research on the issues that the city needs to know. To achieve this, the plan aims to develop seven programs with 81 projects with an estimated budget of US$ 530'000.000.
