The design and high-fidelity prototype for a location aware mobile application aimed at University staff and students

2016
When new students arrive at University they are often overwhelmed by the experience of moving to a new location and the mass of information being passed to them in multiple formats. Some of the information that is passed to students, not only at the start of University but throughout their time there, is of great importance. Particularly, information relating to halls of residence is often ignored or overlooked by students due to the method of which it is delivered. Current delivery methods include leaflets, booklets, posters and TV screen displays. The information campaigns currently undertaken by staff in the halls of residence include fire safety, drug awareness and University help and support services. It is therefore of great importance to ensure that students are aware of this information and that it is delivered to them in a more modern and appropriate format. Using an agile project methodology, this document details the research, analysis, design, implementation and evaluation processes used in order to solve the noted problems.
