Induction and Inhibition of Struvite Bladder Stones in Rats

It have been demonstrated, both in vitro and in vivo, that struvite stone formation is related to urinary tract infection with urease-producing bacteria such as Proteus and Pseudomonas1–3. This paper presents a method for the study of the in vivo formation and prevention of struvite in stones in rats.
