Procesos educativos de la comunidad wayuu en la educación superior: entre el ancestro y la modernidad

This article is a reflection on the educational and pedagogical experience of a considerable group of young people from the Wayuu community of the upper Guajira region of Colombia who are pursuing their studies in different disciplines of higher education at Santo Tomas University. From the stories and structured interviews applied to the students and from the categorical analysis contained in the study matrix, an approach to the academic and experiential experience of the group under study was developed. The importance of the access to higher education for each member of the Wayuu community was demonstrated, translated into an opportunity for personal and profesional.
