Simulation von Verkehrsszenarien

The software module for traffic simulation described in this paper has been developed for use in training simulators. It generates stochastic interactive traffic around the vehicle of the trainee. For this purpose the driver models of all the simulated vehicles receive orders from a central traffic generation instance which guide them on certain routes in the database. Thereupon they autonomously drive along these routes obeying rules of driving and conduct. This behaviour can be overruled for selected vehicles in certain areas in order to create critical scenarios (e.g. violation of right of way or traffic jams) . The software has been successfully used in driving simulators for several years.
