The invention discloses a flavor enhancer for fragrant rice and an application method of the flavor enhancer. The flavor enhancer is a water solution prepared by mixing glibberellic acid, proline and zinc chloride. The flavor enhancer for fragrant rice not only can remarkably increase the contents of the proline as a substrate and total free amino acid so as to increase the fragrance of the rice,but also can remarkably enhance the activities of superoxide dismutase and peroxidase of rice leaves at the grain filling state, thereby delaying the aging of plants.
