Design of Wide Band Dielectric Resonator Antenna for X-Band and Lower Ku-Band Applications

This paper shows the performance of monopole antenna loaded with semicircular dielectric resonator as a wideband transceiver. It presents a novel structure of antenna for the use on a missile or aircraft surface which employs a monopole antenna loaded with a bow-shaped semicircular dielectric resonator antenna. It has a bandwidth of 8 GHz, frequency ranging from 7.5 GHz to 15.5 GHz, percentage bandwidth of 69.565 %, S11 is below-10 dB for the specified frequency ranges and directive gain of around 7.231 dBi at 10.52 GHz frequency.
