11644 - Avaliação do processo de compostagem de resíduos de pescado em mistura com diferentes fontes de carbono Evaluation of the composting process of fish waste mixed with different carbon sources

2011
The recycling waste coming from different production chains, presents itself as an important tool both to minimize the shortage of organic fertilizers for ecological production systems and to reduce environmental impacts caused by their improper disposal. The volumes waste generated in commercial fishing, and rice growers and from the extraction of tannin from the husk acacia, are rising due to increased in demand for these products, causing a series events that may endanger environmental health of soil, water etc. This implies the need for fast transformation and cycling of these materials. This study aimed to evaluate the use of waste fishing activity as a source of organic fertilizers, associated to two different carbon sources: rice husk and acacia husk. The study was conducted at the Embrapa Clima Temperado -Estacao Experimental Cascata, located in Pelotas/RS, Brazil. Composting was conducted in brick cells with an area of 3m 3 , met with a ratio of three pounds of fish to a kilo of rice husk for compost C1 and two pounds of fish
