Passive solar system in Japan

1996
The 'OM Solar System' is the most widely used low-energy architecture system in Japan. Basically, the system is a combination of the roof which single-handedly acts as the heat collector, the intake of fresh air and its inflow underneath the roofing, and the heat storage of concrete slab under the floor. Together, these elements work as an effective floor heating and air ventilation system. Marked by flexibility, the system allows numerous variations to serve multi-functional purposes. These rangefrom an access to a hot water supply and the dehumidification by nocturnal radiation in hot climates, to photovoltaic power generation and the utilization of rainwater
