The space station overview

Abstract This paper is an overview of the Space Station status and activities being undertaken by the NASA in cooperation with Canada, the European Space Agency and Japan. A review of the progress within the past year including user requirements, design baseline, operations concept and program planning will be covered. Discussion of design decisions and recent changes in the management organization will be highlighted. Of special importance will be discussion of the Space Station utilization with focus on insuring that the design requirements are responsive to user needs and consistent with life cycle cost. A preliminary operations concept will be explored and options for evolving the Space Station identified.
