Are the Innovation Statistics in Russia Accurate or Not

The development of statistics about innovations as part of offi cial Russian statistics is the concern of the article. Modern conditions and uses of international statistical standards are discussed. A conclusion is presented about specifi c problems and professional judgments. The main factors involved in defects of innovation statistics in Russia are considered. Their infl uences on the reality of statistical data, as well as a comparison between Russia and other countries, are shown.
