A cost-awareness multicast approach for vehicular ad hoc networks

This paper describes Cost-Awareness Multicast forwarding (CAM), focus on the transmission cost and the efficient multicast data forward in VANETs. Application of the navigation system, we assume only a central center has the planning path of each vehicle and the current location and speed of the vehicle supported by GPS. Once, the source vehicle need to send data to multicast group vehicles. The speed, rendezvous location information are computed. The multicast tree is created based on these information, considering the forward cost. Then The packets are transferred along the edges of the multicast tree.
