Measurement of production cross sections of 66,67Ga, 65Zn and 57,58Co from alpha induced reactions of natural copper for energy up to 50 MeV utilizing cyclotron facility at VECC

2021
Abstract Excitation functions of 66,67Ga and 65Zn, generally used for beam intensity monitoring and/or beam energy determination; 57Co and 58Co produced by natCu(α,x) reactions were measured from their respective thresholds up to 50 MeV using standard stacked foil activation technique followed by high resolution gamma ray spectrometric method. Thick target yields were calculated for these radionuclides using the experimentally determined cross sections and stopping power of natural Cu. Experimentally obtained results were compared with the recently published data, IAEA recommended data and TENDL-2019 data based on the TALYS-1.95 code. The present data are found to be in good agreement with the literature data within experimental uncertainties.
