Micro-nanoscale Loop-shaped Mircowave Antenna for Exciting Spin Waves on Magnetic Materials

2021
In this paper, loop-shaped microwave antenna in the scale of micro- and nanometer loop-shapedis designed to excite and detect spin waves. We consider that spin waves propagate in the yttrium iron garnet (YIG) films grown on gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) substrate with lowest damping. Loop-shaped microwave antenna is made of loop-shaped gold, which is used to excite the Co disks grown on YIG film and spin waves propagating in YIG film. Firstly, the high-frequency structure simulator (HFSS) is used to simulate the current, magnetic field distributon and input resistance of the loop-shaped antenna. In addition, the k distribution of the antenna is obtained by using the fast Fourier transform (FFT). The influence of different matching degrees of the antenna on k distribution is analyzed. The kind of antenna can be used to produce different modes of spin waves.
