Studies on compact FEM as a broad band oscillator

1998
Abstract A broad-band compact FEM is studied for its use in general laboratories. By using variable period wiggler from 44 to 22 mm and electron beam energy of 10 to 100 keV, the oscillation frequency can be changed from 14 to 33 GHz. Although the output power is estimated to be as low as 10 W for small electron beam power, widely tunable cw FEM oscillator will be obtained.
