Tunability of photo-catalytic selectivity of B-doped anatase TiO2 microspheres in the visible light

2018
Abstract B-doped TiO 2 microspheres are prepared by the traditional hydrothermal method. The morphologies and microstructures of B-doped TiO 2 microspheres are characterized by FESEM, X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis and BET surface area measurements. The result shows that B doping may inhibit the crystal growth of TiO 2 anatase phase and also increase the specific surface area of B-doped TiO 2 microspheres, and the specific surface area is of 182.48 m 2 /g when B/Ti ratio is 0.6. B-doped TiO 2 microspheres show an enhanced photo-catalytic activity under the irradiation of visible light, which may totally photo-degrade the gaseous benzene within 70 min.
