Chaotic lasing effect in a closed cycle in transparent wavelength division multiplexed networks

Chaotic lasing effect in a closed cycle of wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) networks with channel power equalizers and gain-damped erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) is observed. It causes degradation in other wavelength channels, but does not saturate the EDFAs.
