Appetite Control in Humans: A Psychobiological Approach

The control of appetite involves an interaction of both homeostatic and hedonic processes that can be conceptualized as part of a psychobiological system. For different groups of humans, the psychobiological system operates in different cultural environments. This article provides an overview of the events and processes that are involved in the short- and long-term regulation of food intake and appetite in humans.
