Flux gage calibration for use in solar environments

1988
Abstract A statistical calibration procedure for flux gages exposed to a solar environment is proposed. This article discusses the procedure as it is applied to data obtained from 23 gages tested at the Central Receiver Test Facility's solar furnace located at Sandia National Laboratories. A detailed evaluation of 1 gage is presented to illustrate the method and the results for the remaining 22 gages are given in tabular form. An alternate procedure is also presented for gages whose “history” is known. The results from our calibrations are also compared to those published by the manufacturer.
