A NEW SPECIES OF GENUS NEOTERMES HOMGREN (ISOPTERA,KALOTERMITIDAE) FROM SICHUAN,CHINA

A new species of genus Neotermes Holmgren collected from Pingshan in Sichuan Province,China is described and illustrated.Type specimens are deposited in the Chengdu Institute of Termite Control.Neotermes pingshanensis sp.nov.(Figs.1-10)This species is similar to Neotermes dolichognathus Xu et Han,but can be distinguished by following characters:body yellowish-brown,the rate of length to breadth of the head is 2/1 rather than 0.71,the second segment of antenna rather longer than the third,masticatory margin of left mandible with 4 teeth rather than 5 and pronotum transverse with strongly concave anterior margin.
