Solving the Soiling Problem for Solar Power Systems

In this issue of Joule, Ilse et al. have presented a comprehensive look at soiling losses seen in photovoltaic systems around the world and quantified the threshold allowable cost for some commonly proposed mitigation measures. Their analysis shows significant differences in economic feasibility of mitigation measures in regional markets based on their soiling rates.
