Impact of Rapid SOP Variation under Tight Filtering in 400 Gb/s Optical Networks

We studied experimentally the performance of 400 Gb/s signals subjected to SOP variation with optical filtering applied. Single-carrier 16-QAM is found to tolerate twice more rapid SOP variation than dual-carrier 8-QAM in bandwidth of 75 GHz.
