Three new coordination compounds based on a new 3-position substituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine ligand: Syntheses, crystal structures and photoluminescent properties
2018
Abstract A new 3-position substituted imidazo[1,2- a ]pyridine ligand, namely, ( E )-4-(3-(2-chloroimidazo[1,2- a ]pyridin-3-yl)acryloyl)benzoic acid (HL) was synthesized and structurally characterized. Based on this ligand, two new coordination polymers, [ML 2 (H 2 O)] n (M = Zn ( 1 ), Cd ( 2 )) and one discrete complex, MnL 2 (H 2 O) 4 ( 3 ), were synthesized under the solvothermal conditions, and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and elemental analyses. Amongst, coordination compounds 1 and 2 are isostructural and show one-dimensional chain structures. The discrete complex 3 is assembled into a dimer structure via supramolecular interactions. In addition, the photoluminescent properties of HL ligand and coordination compounds 1 – 3 have also been investigated.
