Suggested GOES I-M satellite operational scenarios

Plans for the GOES I-M satellite system are reviewed, focusing on the use of GOES data in severe local storm and tropical cyclone analysis and forecasting. The instrumentation and capabilities of the GOES I-M system, which is expected to be launched beginning in the spring of 1990, are discussed. Sounder and imaging coverage scenarios and scenario timetables are presented.
