Numerical simulation calculation for hydrodynamics of planning crafts based on Star-CCM+

In order to research the hydrodynamics of planning crafts’ motion in waves,numerical simulation calculation was carried out under Star-CCM+ soft-ware platform by using VOF method and RNG k-e model and solving Navier-Stokes equation.Evolution of planning craft’s resistance was obtained as the velocity change and the amplitude of heave and pitch was changed with wavelength and frequency.The calculation results of Star-CCM+ were compared with ship model experimental results.The results show that numerical simulation of planning crafts direct route motion based on Star-CCM+ is feasible and precise.
