Haematological and Cytogenetic Studies in Workers Occupationally Exposed to Cement Dust

2002
The present study evaluates the haematological and cytogenetic risks in subjects occu- pationally exposed to cement dust. While cement dust caused indirect haematological damage resulting in ab- normal blood cell counts, it also caused genetic damage comprising of minor chromosomal aberrations, decrease in mitotic index and increased frequency of sister chro- matid exchanges.
