The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Education

2019
The world is experiencing a technological revolution that promises to alter the way humans live, work, and even think. Its scale, scope, and complexity is unlike anything humankind has experienced before. The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) forces humans to encourage creative thinking about the manufacturing processes, value chain, and customer service processes. Everything needs to be reexamined and connected. In these processes education is required to strategically prepare the coming generations for the challenges ahead. Education and, in particular higher education in the 4IR has a special role, being a complex, dialectical and exciting activity which promises to transform society for the better.
