Section 377 Indian Penal Code ("Unnatural sexual offences act") -A study on Indian law students panorama

Little is known about panorama of Indian law students regarding homosexuality and law. Questionnaire study was undertaken at BV Bellad Law College in Belgaum, Karnataka, India. Regarding legalization of same sex marriages in India 75.20% disagreed. Regarding legalization of same sex marriages by other countries, 71.40% of participants felt that it depended on the socio-cultural factors of those nations. According to 77.00% of participantshomosexuality is a manifestation of psychopathology. As per 52.90% of participants the penalties for violating section 377 are harsh and felt the needfor amendments to section 377IPC.
