Guest Editorial Special Issue on Atmospheric Pressure Plasmas and Their Applications

This Special Issue on Atmospheric Pressure Plasmas and Their Applications in the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science highlights topics from the 1st Sino-German Symposium on “Atmospheric Pressure Gas Discharges and Plasma Applications.” The symposium was jointly organized by Dr. Ping Yan from the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Science and Dr. Juergen Kolb from the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology. Financially supported by the Sino-German Center of the German Research Foundation and the Natural Science Foundation of China, the meeting was held in the Sino-German Science Center in Beijing from October 11–17, 2015. Invited talks were given by 25 researchers from China, 15 researchers from Germany, and 3 international researchers from the USA, the U.K., and Japan. In total, more than 80 attendees participated in the symposium.
