Arte e prevenção: um olhar sobre as doenças infecciosas a partir da visão de manicures e pedicures de jataí-go

Educational activity performed by students of the Tutorial Education Program - PET Enfermagem UFG Regional Jatai with professional manicurists/pedicures from the city of Jatai-GO, Brazil. Objective: awareness about diseases that can be transmitted through manicurist/pedicurist professional practice; to advise on measures that can be implemented in cases of occupational accidents; guide workplace ergonomics and health surveillance regulations. Method: this is a three-day short course, which addressed the following themes: HIV, hepatitis B, and C; use of instruments and biosafety; health surveillance regulations; ergonomics and relaxation exercises for women's health. The results were obtained by applying a semi-structured questionnaire to the participants of the action. Results: The activity was attended by 15 professionals, all female. Most of them reported not having prior knowledge about the content covered. Educational and group dynamic lectures were held, which were classified as an excellent methodology by most participants. This project is believed to have achieved positive results for these professionals, the community, and the student of the tutorial education program.
