Enhanced Light Emission inActive Silicon-on-Insul ator Photonic Crystal Slabs andSlot Waveguides

Wepresent experimental measurements onSilicon-on-insul ator (SOI) photonic crystal slabs withanactive layer containing Er3+ ions-doped Silicon nanoclusters (Si-nc), showing strong enhancement of1.54gmemission at roomtemperature. We provide asystematic theoretical analysis tointerpret suchresults.
