Fe-Cr-Nb-B magnetic nanoparticles prepared by arc discharge for hyperthermia

2019
Fe67,7Cr12Nb0.3B20 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were studied for their applications in cancer treatment using hyperthermia. The aim of this paper is to determine if the arc discharge method can be used as an alternatively method to the long-time milling method of the amorphous ribbon for MNPs preparation for hyperthermia application. A correlation between working parameters and the magnetic properties of the arc discharge MNPs was establish. MNPs with dimensions between 5÷30 nm has been prepared. A similar thermo-magnetic behaviour of arc discharge MNPs versus milling particles was observed.
