Algoritmos, viralização e contágio psíquico: o agravamento da industrialização do espírito

The article presents an analysis of the search data of users presented on Google Trends and Facebook and relates them to the current discussion of the role and impact of the algorithms. The relevance of this relationship is considered for the diagnosis of the emergence of specific symbolic contents of the Imaginary, on the one hand, and, on the other, of the use of what we could call psychic contagion strategies, such as verified in the mass communication phenomena. Considering that it is possible to identify these symbolic outbreaks in indicators such as G. Trends and Facebook ads, we reflect on the possible use of this data by institutions (Google and Facebook and their customers) in strategies for suggesting and maneuvering social agendas, as well as the affection that these guidelines call for. Therefore, starting from descriptions presented by the managers of these platforms, a theoretical discussion is proposed about their validity as methodological tools for the Studies of the Imaginary.
