TheEXT3NSisafile system basedonaspecial HIWdevice, called NS cardformultimedia data. In general, normalcomputer hashighlevel ofCPU utilization fornetworking operations withgigabit level andseveral copyoperations. Therefore, we have developed theNS cardtoalleviate thisoverhead. EXT3NSprovides thestandard API'storeadandwrite files instorage unitofNS card. Theperformance measurements on our systemshow obvious performance improvements. Especially, thesystem showsmuchlessserver's CPU utilization andless fluctuation ofclient bitrate, hencemorereliable streaming service ispossible.
